HARRY FORRESTER scored his fourth goal for the club since signing for the Light Blues in January and he was delighted to get on the scoresheet again and notch three points.
Forrester scored his first for the Gers against St Mirren in February, then followed that up with goals against Raith Rovers and Dundee before getting on the scoresheet again today against the Doonhamers.
The attacking player, who featured on the left hand side today for Warburton’s side after also previously having played in the midfield three under the Gers gaffer was delighted to score again, but that winning the three points is what really mattered to him.
He told RangersTV after today’s game: “It was good and to get on the scoresheet was great too obviously. We got the three points which is the most important thing.
“We’re not happy with the performance through because we don’t like to concede goals and today we conceded three.
“However we’ve got to take the positives and today we scored four goals and won the three points.”
Forrester scored in the fourteenth minute of today’s match at Ibrox, making that his third goal for the club within the first thirty minutes of a game – his quickest yet being the near post strike against Dundee in the Scottish Cup.
Speaking after the game, Forrester said that getting early goals can help the team to settle into games. He continued: “We’ve got to come flying out of the box and sometimes teams sit back towards the end of matches. So if we can get the early goal then it can settle everybody and we can play our stuff.”
