RANGERS Managing Director Stewart Robertson has praised the Rangers supporters for their incredible backing ahead of the 2017/18 SPFL season – which kicks off against Motherwell this weekend – and urged the Light Blue legions to continue to be ambassadors for the Club.
More than 42,500 season tickets have been sold to date and Pedro Caixinha’s side approach the new campaign on the back of positive results against Marseille, Watford and Sheffield Wednesday.
Stewart Robertson is encouraging all fans to Follow With Pride this weekend and beyond. He said: “The new season kicks off this weekend and the Rangers supporters have the chance to show why they are the best once again.
“More than 42,500 fans have backed us by purchasing season tickets so far. This is a terrific number and the Board thanks everyone for their continued loyalty to this great club.
“Pedro has assembled a new-look squad for 2017/18 and we are all determined to reward that support with on-pitch success.
“Our first game at Motherwell will be televised live around the UK and overseas and it is important we all continue to Follow With Pride and back the team in the correct manner.
“There is simply no place for any form of unacceptable behaviour and I urge all fans to be ambassadors for this great institution.
”Rangers is a modern, balanced and fair football club. It is crucial all fans appreciate they are representing an institution that has been in existence for 145 years and it is their duty to enhance and protect its reputation.
“Please continue to support the team in an appropriate manner and don’t give anyone the chance to criticise the team or the fanbase.
Thank you for your loyal support and we hope you enjoy the season.”
