RANGERS can today confirm that Declan John has gone to Swansea City for an undisclosed fee.

The full-back joins the Championship side in a permanent move after just more than a year at Ibrox.

John originally joined the Lights Blues on loan from Cardiff City on the final day of the 2017 summer transfer window before making the move permanent in December of the same year.

The Wales internationalist made 31 appearances for Rangers last season after profiting from an early season injury to fellow left-back Lee Wallace.

He impressed in the early stages with an attacking flair, netting a double away to Hamilton in September 2017. They were two of three goals the 23-year-old scored, the other coming against Kilmarnock in a 1-1 draw just before Christmas.

His performances for Rangers caught the eye of Wales manager Ryan Giggs, too, and the defender was called back into the Wales senior squad last season, playing an integral role in their 2017/18 fixtures.

Everyone at the club wishes Declan the very best for his future career on his return to Wales.
