WE look at some of the memorable moments that have happened on this day in the remarkable history of Rangers.

Two years ago today in 2016, the Light Blues signed agreements with Josh Windass and Matt Crooks to join the club last summer from Accrington Stanley on four year contracts.

In 1990, Rangers defeated Aberdeen 2-0 with the goals coming from Ally McCoist and Mark Walters.

Graeme Souness’ men were playing at Ibrox in front of 41,351 fans and had just beaten Celtic the week before 1-0 through a goal from Nigel Spackman.

In 1973, Rangers defeated Celtic 2-1 thanks to goals from Derek Parlane and Alfie Conn.

Conn was the fairy-tale hero for the Gers as he scored a winner for the Light Blues in the 90th minute of the match. Parlane had put the Gers ahead from the penalty spot before Deans had levelled the game for Celtic.

The win by Jock Wallace‘s men ended a winning run of six games for the Parkhead side
