RANGERS make one enforced change for their visit to Aberdeen this lunchtime as David Bates replaces Bruno Alves.

The Euro 2016 winner picked up a knock in training ahead of the clash at Pittodrie and did not make the journey north with Graeme Murty’s squad. That means Bates will slot in beside Danny Wilson for just his second start of the season, his last coming in the Europa League in July.

Murty keeps the rest of his team unchanged with Ross McCrorie providing the cushioning in front of Bates and Wilson. James Tavernier and Declan John provide the attacking threat from their full-back berths. Tavernier comes into this one off the back of a midweek double against the Dons.

The Gers midfield diamond contains McCrorie, Ryan Jack, on his first return to Pittodrie in domestic action, Jason Holt and Carlos Pena. Josh Windass will play off Kenny Miller up top.

Alfredo Morelos has recovered well enough from the heavy knock to his pelvis against Dundee to make the bench. There is also room for Fabio Cardoso amongst the substitutes for the first time since he broke his nose against Motherwell in October’s League Cup semi-final.

RANGERS: Foderingham, Tavernier, Wilson, Bates, John; McCrorie, Jack, Holt, Pena; Windass, Miller.
Substitutes: Alnwick, Cardoso, Hodson, Barjonas, Candeias, Herrera, Morelos.
