FRASER AIRD is delighted and proud to be part of a Rangers team that made history this afternoon at East End Park.

Despite drawing 1-1 against Jim Jefferies’ Dunfermline the Light Blues can now boast a 36-game unbeaten record from their year in League One which is a remarkable achievement at any level.

For 19-year-old Fraser not being able to enjoy one last victory in Fife was frustrating but when reflecting on the entire campaign he believes the Gers squad has done exceptionally well to win 33 league games and drawing just three.

Speaking after the final whistle this afternoon he said: “They boys are delighted although we’re obviously a bit disappointed today.

“We wanted to finish on a high but for us to go the whole season undefeated is an unbelievable achievement.

“The coaching staff, the players and the fans, they’ve got to be delighted with that because it hasn’t happened in so long.

“You’ve got to go out and beat the teams you come up against, it doesn’t matter what league you are in. The boys have done that this season so credit to them and we’re all delighted.”

Aird of course has enjoyed an excellent season for Rangers in Scottish football’s third tier and the talented teen will no doubt be a big player in 2014/15 in the SPFL Championship.

For any winger producing consistent displays week in, week out is the biggest challenge but Fraser has been pleased with his overall contribution in the past nine months for the champions.

“The gaffer said if you keep performing the position will be yours and I’ve went out and done that.

“I’ve repaid them with a few good performances. I’ve been consistent and been able to keep myself in the team and as a young player that’s what you want to do.

“As a winger it’s difficult to keep the consistency every week. You are always going to have ups and downs but I think I’ve had a few more ups that I’ve had downs in this campaign.

“I’m delighted and I’m now going to enjoy a good break away. I’m going home to spend time with my family then I’ll be back in the end of June.

“We’ll then start to get ready for next season.”
