NICOLA Docherty has issued a message thanking NHS workers battling against the COVID-19 virus.

The Gers left-back praised the efforts of workers continuing to do their vital jobs during the worldwide crisis, as well as encouraging everyone to do their bit and stay at home.

In her message to Rangers fans she said: “First and foremost I hope everybody is well. I would like to take my time to thank our amazing NHS team during this incredibly difficult time. They are always putting everybody else first before themselves.

“I would also like to thank everyone else who is still working and putting things in place so we don’t go without.

“For me personally I am going out once a day and using that as my exercise time at the park getting some sprints done and some running.

“Then I am getting myself back home and doing some circuits, keeping myself busy and trying to remain positive. I am also still doing a jigsaw that I started about three weeks ago!

“I can’t wait to get back to Rangers and put on that jersey again, we got off to an incredible start and it is something that we can’t wait to get back to as a team.

“Putting that aside football isn’t a priority just now. Everyone’s health is so much more important and always will be.

“Lastly, I would like to finish by asking everyone to please stay indoors if they can, look out for your family and protect everyone that you can. Please stay at home. Staying home saves lives.”
