RANGERS striker and former England star Jermain Defoe has today added his thanks to the incredible work of healthcare staff battling the Coronavirus pandemic.

Defoe follows teammates James Tavernier, Steven Davis and Flo Kamberi who have sent messages earlier this week, and was keen to stress the important of everyone following government guidelines through this period.

He said:“I’m sending love and support from the Rangers Family to all football fans across the world.

“I would like to thank and pay tribute to all the health workers such as the doctors, the nurses, the ambulance drivers and everyone for their bravery and courage in the face of this immense challenge.

“I would also like to stress the importance of following the guidelines – staying at home, keeping your distance when you go out and using hand sanitizer.

“I know everyone is missing football at the minute but there are a lot more important things to worry about. We are all missing and we will be back soon.”
