GARY MCALLISTER is looking forward to a family atmosphere off the pitch and a competitive one on it as the Gers face Liverpool tomorrow.

The Light Blues assistant manager will be in the away dugout for the first time as he assists Ian Rush for the Reds Legends side.

McAllister, who won the FA Cup, League Cup, Charity Shield, UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup with Liverpool, is looking forward to the game: “It will be a nice day for the families coming to watch.

“The players love it and they tend to start off pretty friendly but when you’ve got so many competitive winners on the pitch the game becomes pretty real – quickly. So it’ll be a nice day at Ibrox.”

There are a host of legendary names lining up for the match and McAllister says that it’s good for fans to remember some of the quality that has been on show at Ibrox in recent times.

He said: “The thing with these games, you will be reminded of the qualities of all these special players. They are both great sets of fans and it’s great that Liverpool fans are making it up for the game as well.

“For the Rangers boys, the names that are playing you will get little reminders of the quality that has passed through the club.

“Rangers has had some fantastic players over the years and that’s what makes these games very special because it is just a wee reminder of what the fans have seen during their period of watching the club.”

Fans can read more from McAllister, and loads more within the official souvenir matchday programme from the game which will be available at the stadium for £5.
