DELIGHTED Kenny Miller reckons Rangers “righted the wrong” of last season by clinching promotion to the Scottish Premiership last night.
The Light Blues fell at the final hurdle last season, losing to Motherwell in the play-off final, but Miller believes sealing the Championship title has more than made up for that.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV.tv, Miller said: “This is huge for the reason it gets us back to where we want to be, back into the top flight. It is this team’s first taste of success and one we have worked so hard for since day one when the manager came in.
“It means so much with the club getting back there and for the fans, it has been four years of great support they have given us and it’s a great reward tonight – getting back to the top flight in front of 50,000.
“This was righting a wrong, we fell at the final hurdle last season and this year we have done it.
“Over the course of the season we have done it well, we have done it with brilliant football, style and it’s been enjoyable to play a part in.
“When you win leagues it is an accumulation of all the hard work you have put in over the season and when you win one it’s because you have deserved it, you have been the best team over the piece and that is undoubted.
“It means a lot to this group, it’s a young group, it’s a new group and it’s a fantastic achievement to win the league with four games to go.
“We have a lot to still do, we have a cup to go and win on Sunday and then we have a semi-final the following week so as much as we’ll enjoy it we’re firmly focused on what’s coming.”
Miller has already committed his future to Rangers for next season, and he is backing his side to perform once again in a higher league.
He continued: “I think this team will do well next season, there is no doubt the club will add players because we will always look to strengthen and I have no doubt we will be ready to mount a challenge next year.”
