IAN DURRANT’S under-20s side return to action this afternoon with an away game against Aberdeen in the SPFL Development League.

Being played at Brechin’s Glebe Park, the young Light Blues will be keen to bounce back from successive 4-0 defeats against Ross County last week and Hamilton Accies the week before.

Fraser Aird and Liam Kelly are the only first team players to make the journey north to Angus this morning, with the likes of Ryan Hardie and Jordan Thompson involved with Mark Warburton’s squad instead.

Aberdeen were the Development League champions last season, but they haven’t been able to carry on that form into this campaign just yet, sitting seventh on 19 points from 11 games played, just the one point ahead of Rangers.

When the sides met last year, Aberdeen won the first game 3-2 although Rangers responded in the second game to win 3-1 thanks to a sensational Ryan Hardie hat trick.

Today’s game kicks-off at 2pm with coverage on @RFC_Youth and full reaction and highlights on rangers.co.uk tonight.
