DECEMBER was a mixed month for the Gers, finishing on a high with an Old Firm victory. Voting is now open for December’s Goal of the Month competition.
Read the reports below and cast your vote. A supporter who voted for the winning goal will have the chance to visit the Hummel Training Centre and attempt to recreate the goal with the winning player.
Goal A – Alfredo Morelos vs Hearts
With what was his 16th goal of the season, Alfredo Morelos put Rangers ahead against Hearts with an excellent finish. Assist king James Tavernier whipped in a free kick from the right-hand side and Morelos got in front of his marker to flick the ball past Hearts keeper Zlamal and into the far corner. A superb goal which would ultimately give Rangers a brilliant win.
Goal B – Andy Halliday vs Dundee
In what was ultimately a disappointing result, Andy Halliday produced a moment of magic against Dundee at Dens Park. Daniel Candeias was brought done on the edge of the box, almost on the 18 yard line, and Halliday was the man to take the resulting free kick. He lashed a thunderous left-foot strike into the top corner giving the goalkeeper no chance to keep it out.
Goal C – Alfredo Morelos 2nd vs St Johnstone
Rangers were huffing and puffing in Perth and were in desperate need of a goal to keep the pressure on at the top of the table. Having already drawn the Gers level with an excellent header, Colombian Morelos capped off the game with a brilliant goal inside the last 5 minutes. Again, Tavernier was the provider as he put in a great cross from the right, Morelos beat his man and struck a first-time volley into the back of the net to give his team a crucial win.
Goal D – Ryan Jack vs Celtic
This strike makes the list for its sheer importance to both Rangers and the fans. After 12 games without a win against our bitter rivals, Ryan Jack popped up with his first goal for the club to seal a memorable victory. Ryan Kent turned Mikael Lustig inside out on the left wing and cut the ball back to Jack who fired through Scott Brown’s legs and into the back of the net, sending Ibrox crazy.
The vote closes at 11.59 (GMT) on Sun 13 Jan and the winner will be contacted by 5.00pm on Mon 14 Jan.
