VOTING for January’s Goal of the Month is now open. Read the reports below and vote for your favourite.
One lucky fan who voted for the winning goal will win the chance to recreate the goal at Auchenhowie with the player himself.
Goal A – Morelos vs Aberdeen
With his 13th goal of the season, El Buffalo sent Rangers on their way to a hard-earned victory against Aberdeen at Ibrox. With the game poised at 0-0, Morelos latched on to the end of an inch-perfect James Tavernier cross at the back post to head past Joe Lewis and into the Dons net.
Goal B – Candeias vs Ross County
After coming in off the right wing, Candeias found himself 30 yards from goal in acres of space. He took one touch forward and tried his luck. His dipping shot proved too much for Ross County keeper McCarey to handle and it nestled in the bottom left hand corner of the net to put the Gers 1-0 up.
Goal C – Cummings vs Ross County
Jason Cummings sealed the victory against Ross County with his 1st goal for the club after coming on for Morelos after 75 minutes. A loose pass from County’s Ross Draper landed at Cummings on the half way line and he drove towards the Ross County box, before cutting inside and placing a left footed shot in the bottom corner from 20 yards out to send the Gers fans wild.
Goal D – Windass vs Fraserburgh
The 2nd goal of Josh Windass’ hat-trick against Fraserburgh is the next nominee. After already putting the Gers up from the spot, Windass controlled a miscued shot from Jason Cummings and lashed the ball into the top corner from 12 yards out.
Goal E – Windass vs Fraserburgh
Putting the game beyond any doubt and grabbing his hat-trick goal, Windass picked up the ball on the left wing and drove at the Fraserburgh defence and cut inside on to his right foot before unleashing a low drive into the bottom corner and sending the Gers onto the 5th round of the Scottish Cup.
