RANGERS Football Club has given its support to a local community event by allowing the use of a Hummel Training Centre pitch for a youth football tournament.
Organisers of Milngavie Week appealed to the club for help after being unable to find a suitable location to host a competition and the club have now offered the use of a pitch at the club’s training facility.
Youngsters from four local boys clubs in the area will get the chance to play at the training ground with around 18 players from each club attending the event.
Rangers managing director Stewart Robertson said: “We are delighted to be able to help this local initiative. We’re proud to be part of the Milngavie community, and wish everyone all the very best with the event.”
Milngavie Week is organised by Milngavie Community Development Trust, a registered charity which aims to improve living in Milngavie.
A variety of events will be held in the area from June 8 until June 15.
