RANGERS Supporters travelling to Pittodrie are being advised to leave earlier than planned as there are likely going to be traffic issues on the route from Central Scotland.

Emergency roadworks are in place on the A956 Market Street, Aberdeen – the main route into the city for supporters travelling north. Drivers are being recommended to avoid the area as it has caused major congestion in the area around the harbour.

Police are not advising a specific route but options include:

  • A92 North Anderson Drive, Westburn Road, Hutcheon Street, Mounthooly
  • Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (new A90 by-pass) and leave at the Westhill/Kingswells junction
  • Buses may wish to follow their own path, presumably via Market Street which will likely have lengthy delays. There is a city centre diversion route in place.

Rangers Supporters Coaches should also note that there will be free bus parking at the Stadium.  There will be a convoy following the match to take the coaches away from the stadium.

Additionally, Police Scotland intimated that they will be conducting an operation regarding alcohol on buses.
