RANGERS will once again send a side to the prestigious Citi Soccer Sevens event in Hong Kong next month.
The Light Blues will join fellow youth teams from the likes of defending champions Leicester City, Newcastle United and Aston Villa in the 16-team tournament which runs from May 18 to May 20.
Gers have been regulars in the tournament over the years, and the club’s Head of Academy Craig Mulholland believes their participation will cap a great year for the youth setup at the club.
He explained: “We are delighted to once again be attending HKFC Citi Soccer Sevens. The sevens is a fantastic event at the end of a season which our players and coaches mark on their calendars with great enthusiasm.
“From a football perspective the tournament provides our players with a unique competition against some of the top players from some of the UK’s biggest clubs as well as players from other countries and cultures throughout the world. Hopefully we can improve upon last year’s semi-final appearance.
“The HKFC Citi Soccer Sevens will end what has been a remarkable season for the Academy and indeed for these young players. We are very much looking forward to the football and indeed visiting Hong Kong again where we always receive a fantastic welcome from the organisers and of course the huge Rangers fan base who reside there.”
Tickets for the event are available at www.ticketflap.com/hksoccer7s2018 with free entry for all on Friday May 18 and free entry for children under 16 years old all weekend. Single day tickets cost HK$160 and weekend passes are HK$300.
