RANGERS play Stenhousemuir this evening as they go in search of a place in the Challenge Cup third round.

The under 20 side beat Stirling University 4-0 last week in convincing fashion, they netted all four goals in 22 first-half minutes. Josh Jeffries scored a double and Ryan Hardie and Liam Burt added the other two.

Ryan Hardie and Jordan Thompson are currently out on loan in the Championship but featured for the academy side last Wednesday and are likely to star again.

The youngsters are defending the first-team’s title from last season, when the senior Gers stormed through to the Hampden Park final to defeated Peterhead 4-0.

This will be Stenhousemuir’s first game in the Irn Bru Cup, with League One sides entering the competition at the second round stage. The Warriors are yet to win a match this season, losing their opening six fixtures in both league and cup action.

Kick-off is 7.30pm at Forthbank Stadium, Stirling. Adults priced at £5.00, concessions £3.00.
