HEAD of Rangers Academy, Craig Mulholland, joined coaches Peter Lovenkrands, Graeme Murty, David McCallum and youth players Dapo Mebude and Nathan Young-Coombes at the Hummel Training Centre today (Monday 5 August 2019) to launch a new Rangers Lotto campaign for the Rangers Youth Development Company.

Craig, Peter, Graeme, David, Rangers manager Steven Gerrard, Director of Football Mark Allen, Kevin Thomson and a group of training ground staff all took part in a recent photoshoot for Rangers Lotto and the images will feature in a new ‘I’m Supporting Our Academy’ advertising campaign throughout the 2019/20 season.

Rangers Lotto costs just £1 to play, is one of the most successful products in RYDC’s growing portfolio and fans have won cash prizes of more than £10 million since it was launched in 1994.

Colin Stewart, Rangers Youth Development Company Director of Operations, was delighted to officially launch the new campaign to supporters this afternoon.

He commented: “We have been working on this new Rangers Lotto campaign for some time and I am sure supporters will be happy with the results.

“Almost 50 staff at the training ground – from Academy coaches and backroom staff to Steven Gerrard and Mark Allen – all generously donated their time to support RYDC and I am delighted with the results.

“Last year’s Lotto campaign featured Amy McDonald, a host of players from the women’s team and Ibrox staff so we have focused on the Academy this year. Rangers Lotto is our flagship product and I would like to thank everyone who took part.

“RYDC has provided the Rangers Academy with almost £8 million since 2002 and campaigns like this allow us to generate even more funds for the youth department.

“We are all passionate about supporting the Academy in any way we can and I know Craig Mulholland and his team are grateful for the levels of income we are able to generate for them.”

Head of Academy Craig Mulholland commented: “The work of RYDC has allowed us to transform the Academy in the last few years.

“Their financial support has allowed us to employ some of the best coaches and practitioners, recruit some top youth international players, create a school programme where our players receive 18 hours of contact time per week at Boclair Academy, take our players on a series of ‘best v best’ challenges against some of Europe’s top clubs which dramatically accelerates their development and improve the Academy facility and environment creating a high performance culture.

“All of these innovative steps will result in a higher quality of Academy player pushing for Rangers first-team year on year.

“Given the importance of the RYDC support, all of the staff were delighted to sign up to Colin’s excellent new campaign and make sure we are contributing to the exciting future for Rangers Academy and our players.

“As always we offer our very sincere thanks to Colin, his team at RYDC and the supporters, when everyone comes together at Rangers we can achieve something special.”
