RANGERS Academy graduate Ross McCrorie took part in a Q&A for RYDC on Tuesday – if you missed it here are the highlights.
Q – Cali – Who is your all-time favourite Rangers player?
A – Madjid Bougherra. I always remember him for those mazy runs from the back and the goal against Dundee Utd.
Q – Carlo – What has been his favourite moment playing for Rangers?
A – I would say my first goal for Rangers, the header against Partick Thistle. That was a great moment.
Q –Caitlyn Hamilton – What was it like being involved in the 1st team at such a young age?
A – It makes you mature a lot quicker. My mentality has changed a bit, I am a lot hungrier to keep it all going.
Q – Andy Stewart – What side of your game has improved the most since the new coaching staff took over?
A – I would say I have improved physically. I was always at a high level anyway but this is another step up.
Q – Tracy – Has playing for and being included in the first team, been everything you thought it would be or have there been a few things that surprised you along the way?
A – I have not been surprised. I already knew what to expect as I had a good grounding at the academy. I knew the pressures and what to expect as I am a Rangers fan.
Q – Curtis – What is it like to play under Steven Gerrard who is arguably one of the best midfielders of all time and has it helped you to continue to improve?
A – It is great because he is was my idol when I was younger. Basically, I am learning from the best.
Q – Stuart – What targets have you set yourself for this season and what are your long-term career ambitions?
A – I want to play for Rangers week in, week out. My long-term career ambition is to play for the Scotland national team.
Q – Cameron – What was your reaction when you were told you had to go in goals?
A – I was a bit shocked but my first thought was to take the jersey for the team.
Q – Kyle – Have you talked to your brother about keeping a clean sheet in the league before him?
A – Yes, it was just a laugh between us.
Q – MS – If you could choose 2 centre mids from Rangers that you have seen to partner you, who would they be?
A – Barry Ferguson would be one. He is everything that represents Rangers. Great leader and great player. Steven Davis too and I’ve played alongside him to see his quality.
Q –Megan – Who are the funniest players in the squad?
A – Kyle Lafferty is one of the funniest guys in the squad. Scotty Arfield is up there too.
Q – Gersfan46 – What is it like having Steven Gerrard as your manager?
A – As I said before it is learning from the best.
Q – Kimmie – What is the best game you have played in, what team do you support and who do you look up to in the squad?
A – When we beat Celtic 1-0 at New Year. That was a great performance and we should have won by more. I’m a Rangers support and I look up to Steven Davis because of his experience.
Q – SFPC Ross – Centre back or midfielder?
A – Midfield because there is a lot more action and you are at the centre of everything.
Q – Willy – Favourite game and goal while playing for the youth team?
A – I scored a hat-trick when I was younger against Celtic in Alan Boyd’s team. A hat-trick of headers too!
