RANGERS Development squad beat Huddersfield Town 2-1 in a friendly at the Hummel Training Centre this afternoon.
The visitors were ahead through Micah Obiero on the 32nd minute before Glenn Middleton equalised just a minute before the interval.
Huddersfield were first to threaten inside the first five minutes as a trialist for the West Yorkshire side set-up Tim Akinola for a shot on the edge of the box but his curling right-footed effort bounced back off the bar.
Graeme Murty’s side had a good chance of their own shorty after as James Maxwell won the ball back on the left, before whipping a cross into the box towards Glenn Middleton. The Gers forward got a touch on the ball but couldn’t keep his effort down as it drifted just over the bar.
Hudderfield goalkeeper Jacob Chapman produced a good save to deny Rangers a breakthrough on the 18th minute. Josh McPake picked out Kai Kennedy in the box, and the winger fired a powerful shot towards goal which was blocking by the visiting number 1.
Just before the half-hour mark Huddersfield came close as captain Scott High found space and tried a shot from long-distance but it was just wide of the target.

Rangers were forced into a change shortly after as defender Daniel Finlayson had to come off injured and was replaced by Kyle McClelland.
Kai Kennedy was next to be replaced for Rangers before the break after also taking an earlier knock, John Balde came on in his place.
The Gers were back in the game a minute before half-time as John Balde played the ball through to Glenn Middleton who fired a powerful shot into the back of the net.
Jacob Chapman pulled out another good save just after the break as he blocked a shot from John Balde.
Their were few chances to note for either side in the second-half as they searched for a winner in the match.
Rangers got a winner late on as Kyle McClelland found Robbie Ure in the box with a good delivery and the young striker headed beyond the keeper.
