FOUR Rangers youngsters were involved for Scotland under-17s yesterday as they drew with Italy.

Jamie Barjonas, Liam Burt and Jack Adamson all started the match, with the latter being replaced for the last ten minutes of the match and Kieran Wright an unused substitute.

The young Scottish side must now wait to discover if they have qualified for the elite round of the UEFA European Under-17 Championships after being held in Bulgaria.

A Wallace Dufy goal after 32 minutes had given Scotland the lead before Italy equalised in injury time in the first half through Andrea Pinamonti.

With Bulgaria and FYR Macedonia drawing 0-0 in group’s other match, Scotland finished third on head-to-head with Bulgaria, who secured the second spot just behind Italy.

Scotland can still qualify one of five best third-placed teams, which will be determined once all first qualifying groups are completed later this month.
