THE Rangers Development Squad recorded an impressive win over Benfica in the latest of their Games Programme tests.

The youngsters snatched a 3-2 victory over in Lisbon after leading twice in the game against last year’s UEFA Youth League runners-up.

Andy Dallas struck twice in the first half, either side of a Benfica equaliser to send the 20s in at the break 2-1 to the good. Dallas’ first came on the half hour mark after he turned in at the back post. His second was six minutes later, less than 30 seconds after the Portuguese outfit had drawn level through a Zak Rudden own goal.

Benfica made it 2-2 seven minutes after the break but Serge Atakayi gave Billy Kirkwood’s side the win with an 81st minute strike. The Finn buried the ball after shooting from the edge of the box.

There was good news for both Jack Thomson and Jordan Houston too who were back playing after long lay-offs through injury.
