RANGERS Academy defender Danny Finlayson enjoyed a Twitter Q&A with supporters for the Rangers Youth Development Company last week – check out the highlights of his session.

The 18-year-old has enjoyed a positive start to the 2019/20 season – on target recently with the decisive goal as the Light Blues beat Young Boys in the UEFA Youth League.

Last Friday, he took part in a Q&A for RYDC at the Hummel Training Centre.

Q – Alan – What past/present defenders would you like to have played alongside?

A – I would say Sergio Ramos of Real Madrid. He is a leader and has been that for years. A great character and a winner.

Q – Kimmie – Who do you look up to in the Rangers first team?

A – Connor Goldson. He has the respect of everyone and he also leads the team. He will do anything to win.

Q – Kimmie – What your favourite memory being a Rangers player?

A – I have had a few recently. Scoring the winner against Young Boys in such an important UEFA Youth League game. We all worked hard for it and I know what it meant to everyone so I would say that goal.

Q – Tom – Hi Danny – talk us through how you felt by the 1st physical threat of Moors strikers Blissett & McCallum?

A – The big left winger! It was a new experience for me. He was elbowing, scratching everything. He was just trying to go through me but I enjoyed it and can learn from it.

Q – Colin – What’s your favourite training day and why?

A – I like a pre-match day. It is a short, sharp session and gets us ready for the game. We do a lot of tactical work which I enjoy.

Q – Who is the joker in the dressing room?

A – Biggest joker is Nathan Patterson. I have never had a serious conversation with him he is just so funny.

Q – Who would you rather man-mark – Ronaldo or Messi?

A – Ronaldo. Messi is so tricky and I probably wouldn’t get near him!

Q – What do you like to do away from football?

A – I like to chill out with my family. I also spend a lot of time with Brian Kinnear, Cammy Palmer and Josh McPake – going for dinner and coffees.

Q- Stephen – How do you think the next UEFA Youth game against Slovan Bratislava will go?

A – I think they will be a physical side. They will be tough opponents but we are confident we will get the job done.
