THE RANGERS Academy were today delighted to welcome Charlie Fogarty to deliver a series of motivational speeches to the club’s Academy players.
Fogarty, 20, was a youth player with Birmingham City, West Bromwich Albion and most recently MK Dons before he was stuck by an overtaking car while crossing the road, aged just 15.
He was in a coma for four months and in hospital for a total of 11 months, where he had to learn to talk, walk and eat again. Since his recovery, Charlie has played for the Northern Ireland Cerebral Palsy team in tournaments across the globe.
He also delivers motivational speeches to both professional and community sports clubs, and uses his experiences and recovery to inspire others.
Today, Rangers Academy squads heard at length from Charlie before RangersTV spoke with him afterwards.
