The Gers have started the season well and are currently undefeated in the League having won two matches and drawn two. They sit second in the League, a point behind Celtic who have won their first three matches and have a game in hand.
Last week, Durrant’s side were depleted due to international duty for many of the normal squad and fielded a young side against Motherwell.
The Steelmen took the lead after just eight minutes of the game and the Gers youngsters battled back to lead 2-1 but it was some poor defending that led to visitors’ equaliser in the 71st minute.
Centre-half David Brownlie got Rangers first from close range but it was Northern Irishman Jordan Thompson who stole the show with a near perfect free-kick on the half hour mark – his first goal for the club.
Tonight’s opponents Dundee United are also undefeated in the Development League this season after drawing with Dundee and Ross County 1-1 and defeating last season’s league winners Aberdeen 2-0.
Durrant told RangersTV that he expects a tough match this evening against an experienced United side: “It will be a tough game against Dundee United. They’ll add in a bit more experience and a bit more grit in terms of defending.”
We’ll have live coverage on Twitter HERE a match report and post match reaction on the club website tonight followed by match highlights and reactions from Ian Durrant and a player after the match.
