RANGERS under-20s were defeated 4-2 away to Kilmarnock in last night’s Development League match.

The Light Blues took the lead in the early stages of the game through Andrew Dallas after beating two defenders and shooting beyond the Killie keeper.

However Killie were back level within a few minutes as Flo Bojaj headed beyond Robby McCrorie in goal from close range.

Not long after drawing level, Kilie were to then take the lead as Adam Frizzell latched onto a Charlie Adams ball and from a tight angle curled a shot into the top corner beyond the stretching McCrorie.

Despite the Gers going close to equalising just before the break, it remained 2-1 to Kilmarnock. Moments after the break however, Killie dealt a blow to the second half hopes of the Gers as Bojaj scored again, bursting through the Light Blues defence and scoring beyond McCrorie.

New signings Myles Beerman and Serge Atakayi combined not long after the latter had came on as a substitute for Zak Rudden and played in Ross Lyon who tried his luck only for his shot to lash narrowly over the bar.

Kilmarnock then increased their lead to make it 4:1 as Iain Wilson cut inside onto his left foot inside the box and shot beyond McCrorie.

The Light Blues pulled one back with five minutes of the match remaining as Ross McCrorie crossed from the right hand side and Andrew Dallas headed home from close range.

RANGERS: Robby McCrorie, Houston (Barjonas 75′), Bradley, Bates, Beerman, Ross McCrorie, Lyon, Burt, Jeffries (Gibson 45′), Rudden (Atakayi 68′), Dallas.
