RANGERS under-20s return to action this afternoon as they face Hibernian at Auchenhowie.

It’s the first outing for Ian Durrant’s young guns since their 2-0 success against St Johnstone on September 29.

On that night, goals from Scott Roberts and Ryan Hardie sealed an impressive victory over a Saints side packed with first-team stars.

Mark Warburton may use the game to give some of his fringe players some game time, although it remains to be seen if the likes of Tom Walsh, Ryan Hardie, Fraser Aird, Liam Kelly and Jordan Thompson are involved given they were on the bench last night for the under-20s 1-0 win over Livingston in the Petrofac Cup.

Against the Hibees last season, there was disappointment for Rangers as both matches ended in 4-1 triumphs for the Leith club, with Ryan Hardie scoring in both games for the Light Blues.

This season seems to be a different story for this afternoon’s visitors however. They are rock bottom of the 17-team Development League having gained just four points from their six matches played so far.

Kick-off is at 2pm this afternoon, and there will be full Twitter coverage on @RFC_Youth as well as full reaction on rangers.co.uk later today.
