THE RANGERS legends have roared into the final of the Hong Kong Soccer Sevens with a stunning 4-1 win over Eastern Salon Top Class – and now they are gunning for revenge against Ajax.

Andy Goram’s All-stars were in awesome form as they swept aside their local opponents with the goals coming from Alex Rae, Jorg Albertz, Michael Mols and Charlie Miller.

Reigning champions Ajax narrowly beat Rangers 3-2 in the group phase and they clinched their place in the final when they knocked out the Hong Kong FC veterans in extra time so the scene is set for a fantastic showdown.

The legends made a fantastic start with a goal after a minute and it was Alex Rae on target for the second game running.

It was Derek Ferguson who played the ball into the box – looking for Michael Mols it seemed – and it broke for Rae who drove a terrific, swerving right foot shot across the keeper.

There was a scare when Top Class managed to get a shot off from the edge of the box but if flew wide

Rangers should have had a second goal when Marvin Andrews burst out of defence and Mols made a great run in the left channel but Andrews over-hit his pass and a great chance was lost.

However, the second goal was not long in coming and it was a classic from The Hammer. He fooled the Top Class defence by feinting to pass to Mols and strolled into the penalty area before stabbing a shot into the net.

Charlie Miller and Mark Walters came on in the second half and they linked perfectly to make it 3-0 for Rangers.

Walters might have picked out Mols but Miller was in a better position and when he was rolled in he finished well with a right foot strike low into the left corner.

Dutch star Mols deserved a goal for his hard work and he got it when Andrews made up for his first half error and broke out of defence to play him in and he produced an easy low finish.

The local team pulled one back at the death but it mattered little as Rangers booked their place in the Hong Kong Sevens final which kicks off at 11.30am UK time.
